Warlingham Landscaping project with a twist.
Our clients wanted to level their garden, we achieved this by building a retaining wall, levelling the lawn and laying new turf.
We then created an elegantly raised planter with seat and hardwood horizontal panels fixed to the walls of an adjacent outbuilding.
The patio was extended and laid in Indian sandstone, the project was then completed by planting out a new scheme.
Our customer was extremely pleased with the finished result as we were and I’m sure you will agree by looking at the before and after photos below.
Every vision comes with a new set of challenges and although we strive to get the best results and finish possible from that initial concept there’s always the chance that things change as the work progresses.
And then there are projects like this one that exceeds expectations with the Indian sandstone that gives that beautiful finishing touch and rich in history.
Did you know the Taj Mahal at Agra was constructed from Indian marble? Some of the rock-cut structures include Khajuraho Temple, Elephanta Caves, and Konark Temple. Besides, all major archeological excavations have revealed exquisitely carved statuettes and carvings in Indian stone.
Ancient Buddhist monuments like the Sanchi Stupa of 3rd century BC have also been carved out of stone.
India’s history, dating back to 3200 BC has been influenced considerably by the disposition, development and use of stones and other construction materials. Dimension stones have also left deep imprints on the architectural heritage of the country.
Innumerable temples, forts and palaces of Ancient Indian Civilisation have been carved out of locally available stones. This information was taken from Wiki.
