Tunbridge Wells garden design in a contemporary style.
This beautiful garden was designed by one of the best designers within Tunbridge Wells of whom we work closely with on a regular basis.
With the house being a new modern contemporary home the client wanted to reflect this within the garden, a feeling of openness, clean design lines and using modern materials to create a crisp modern look for all the family to enjoy.
The garden was pretty much a blank canvas which with a lot of new builds the bare minimum is spent you never know what’s buried underneath.
The hard compacted ground went in our favour as a majority would be hard standing and raising the levels would create deep planting pockets for the plants to thrive.
The terrace and paths were laid using large rectangular Porcelain tiles laid in staggered lines to give the terrace a feel of depth.
The client also wanted to create an outdoor studio so they could work away from the distractions within the home environment; this also gave the garden some height giving them more privacy in the garden, using Cedar to clad the studio softened the crisp white look of the Porcelain.
Surrounding the studio with linking paths we installed a composite deck using Carbonised Charred Millboard which kept to the contemporary feel being black, bordered the Porcelain and studio bring them together.
Large jungle planting planted to soften the garden producing an array of colour greens and textures softening the white on the walls surrounding which also created a good backdrop and the foliage casting quirky shadows across the Porcelain tiles.
