This project started in March 2022.
Designed by Oakmore Green Ltd the clients were looking for a modern, contemporary, and low-maintenance design using modern materials, maximising the outdoor space for entertaining friends and family.
Using these modern materials creates a garden that is easy to care for and will last years to come, retaining its texture and colour throughout.
The paved areas were laid in Porcelain in two different colours Urban Grey and Trendy Black, we used two different sizes in the Urban Grey 600×600 for the top terrace with larger 600x900x for the lower, bordered to define the kitchen area in the 600×600 Trendy Black.
Using porcelain provides an exceptional, consistent finish, with a designed textured surface to create an anti-slip finish and a realistic stone look.
Porcelain has non-porous characteristics which help prevent stains from penetrating, which makes for easy cleaning. Sun-resistant and extremely hard-wearing it’s one of the most durable on the market in a wide range of colours, textures and styles.
The top terraced paved area has a rota louvred pergola constructed with a powder-coated aluminium frame the louvred shutters create a fully waterproof and UV-protected space that comes rain or shine by a turn of a handle. Water is taken away from the roof seamlessly using internal channels, funnelling the water out down the legs to drain out naturally into the ground, the Pergola also comes with all-around pull-down sunscreens.
For the rest of the top area, we laid artificial grass, creating a good-sized lawn area for lounging and enough space to play games, this also helped to soften the the whole garden with no need for cutting and maintenance, it gives a tough, durable, and clean surface all year round.
At the far end of the terrace, we installed a composite decked area using Charcoal DesignBoard to make a real statement, these boards are robust, low maintenance and have a hidden fixing system they make a great alternative to your traditional wooden decking.
The retaining walls were clad using Hydra Argen DesignClad, these come in 1600x800x6mm sheets cut down to shape and size.
DesignClad is produced from porcelain and maintains the same characteristics as the paving is durable and stylish and provides a great finish, also built into the wall design were slatted hardwood Cedar benches offering a variety of seating throughout the garden, the natural Cedar brings a warm and softer feel to the garden.
For the outdoor kitchen, we installed a built-in Barbecue and burner to cover all their cooking needs, under the counters, we built plenty of storage space accessible through smart, stylish stainless steel cupboard doors, we also installed an outdoor fridge to keep all the drinks cool on those hot sunny days!
The large centre island of the kitchen created the perfect entertaining space to sit at and for people to congregate while you’re busy in the kitchen.
