Tenterden Landscaping, a beautiful project in the heart of Kent.
The family living in this semi-detached house wanted to add interest and variety into a previously bland garden, as well as some screening for privacy and to break up the view of an established leylandii hedge.
We extended the terrace, adding a small pond with water feature, and created sight lines and access by building paths and stepping stones to link different areas of the garden. We used brick pavers to tie-in with the mellow tones of the house.
A large-scale raised bed, densely filled with scented planting and including a built-in seat, was constructed down one side of the path, along with a sturdy trellis, to shield the garden from neighbours.
We repeated the motif of the raised bed by creating three wooden planters with tall obelisks which now act as focal points from the house and help break up the visual mass of green hedging.
A mature olive tree, set in a decorative circle, makes a feature of the small lawn.
The scheme has a contemporary feel yet is beautifully planted and easy to maintain.
We absolutely love working on projects like this in a beautiful part of Kent.
Smaller garden projects such as this one enable us to get creative with the limited space.
The family were really impressed with the look and feel of the garden and are excited about the prospect of spending many warm summers evenings in the garden.
